Submitted by Ray Wyland, Ride Coordinator for the Hooligans SC and VCOS
Even though it was the middle of July, for some reason the rain came out for the Totem Run. But the rain did not stop about 25 people from coming out to do some riding and to go check out some cool totem poles scattered around the city. The Hooligans led the ride and Tom the President of the Hooligans gave a little speech at each totem pole. He did his research and a booklet was passed out giving details about each totem pole.
The run started in Pioneer Square at Cherry Street Coffee. After that the ride went to The Pier, North Seattle, through Golden Garden into Ballard, We took a break at Totem House Red Mill Burger to grab something to eat. Others went down to The Sloop to have drinks. Once we got all back together we headed to The U-District to see the Totem Poles at The Burke Museum. The route took everyone all along Lake Washington through The Rainer Valley and finally into West Seattle.
The final stop was at The Alki Log House where there was a little BBQ. There was also raffle prizes and the money donated was given to The Alki Log House and The Duwamish Tribe. Thanks everyone for coming out! -Ray (Hooligans)
